Help

The Facetivals.com site is providing events of the best known and most popular European music festivals of different categories (genres).

To get the most out of the database containing thousands of events at hundreds of festivals, you should get acquainted with the possibilities of its Search panel functions. These functions are making it the most unique festival portal today. You must not forget, that by clicking on the Map view area (or Show on map icons) , the results of your search will be shown on the appropriate map.

Important: this site is containing festival events only. Single events/concerts at a particular venue will not be listed, if not part of a festival.

On the top of the opening screen you certainly saw (and hopefully used) the search field. In this field you can type in both single keywords as well as phrases, you want to search for. Always click on the Find button to start your search.

search by Keyword

Exact searches can be started, e.g.: if you want to find all the places where David Guetta is going to perform, all you need to enter is David Guetta and click on the Find button. Complex phrases like Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra can be entered here. However, because of the nature of the search system, if you enter Guetta David, you will not be shown any hits, in this search criteria exact phrases are looked for.

You can certainly combine a Keyword search, with another keyword search. You are offered the AND, OR and NOT logical operators to cover virtually any combination of searches. e.g. If you look for Franz Liszt Sonata in B minor, you will receive no hits. But, in the case you enter in the first Keyword field Sonata in B minor (which is a composition) and Franz Liszt (as a composer) in another, you will receive all hits in the database.

Hint: since Franz Liszt can be found as Liszt Ferenc also, the best results are given, when Liszt is entered only.

search by Festival

The database contains both the local/original and the English name of the festival. In the case you know exactly the English name of the festival, you can look for a festival by its initials (ABC filter). e.g. Glastonbury can be found under the letter G, together with Gaymers Camden Crowl and other festivals.

search by Category (genre)

There are many types of music fans, but the specialists are either looking for a certain piece of music, or are looking for a special category/genre. e.g. Chanson or Early works/Antique music is not the most popular genres.

search by Location

By picking this Criteria (Rule) you need to select the target Country. In the second drop down list, you will be offered the following options:

  1. All cities (of a country)
  2. A Region of a Country (All cities in a region) or
  3. A specific City

In all cases after the hits are listed you can click on the Show on Map icon to go to the festival location(s) and show its/their venues.

search by Date

To search for festival events by date, you need to invoke the Date criteria from the drop-down list. By default the time-frame of one month from today is offered.

Search criteria combinations (Add rules)

In the case you want to narrow or refine your searches, you can easily do this selecting one of the criteria, then clicking on the Add rule button add another criteria. Virtually any combination of rules can be combined. However, there can even be combinations, which will return no results, despite the fact they seem to be logical at first glance.

List

By clicking on the List button, you will receive the resulting set of hits returned by your search/combination. Wherever you are on our site, by clicking Main and on this button the last list of restults will be shown to you.
